Hi everyone – just a reminder that it is the Bellevue Park Centenary Event tomorrow. The park celebrates its 100th Birthday with a celebration featuring music and family fun. Sunday 25th July, 12.00-6.00pm. Entry is free. More events are listed on www.wrexhamevents.co.uk.

I’m sure I speak for a lot of residents when I say thanks to Nicky for organising the street party. It was great seeing all the children having fun playing together, and the adults getting together for a chat too. What do you all think about having a residents’ group committee for organising similar events in the future? It would be nice to think that this wasn’t just a one off and that we can all get together again. Please leave your comments below. Jane

Nearly time to Party!

Well party time nearly here, hope everyone still excited and ready for fun!!!! Hopefully the weather will be dry tomorrow. Dont forget starting time is at 1 and finishes at 5. there is lots for the children to play again please put them in clothes you dont mind them getting messy in. Some fun for the adults tug of war and spoon and marble race. Can`t wait to meet you all dont forget food and drink, maybe a chair to sit on, if anyone has any spare plastic cups and paper plates please bring them along.

After the party has finished if we all please help each other to clear up. Lets make sure all rubbish is placed in the bins provided. Have great fun!!!!

Street Party – Latest Update

It sounds like people are excited about the street party which is good news. lets hope the weather is good the forcast for Saturday is to be nice dry weather lets hope they got it right for a change!!!
If everyone coming remembers to brings a plate of something and some drink, The children`s play is all sorted, remember messy clothes for the kids. I have got a tug of war rope so remember no slippy shoes! Instead of an egg and spoon race we going to have a marble and spoon race, believe me it is hard, but fun!!!! Another game we need toilet roll for the first team to dress up a team member as a mummy wins and pass the balloon between the knees tricky one! all good fun!!!! Hope we can all join in and have a really fun day getting to know each other. Again thankyou Coed-Y-Glyn residants for all your fantastic support. Nicky

Street Party Update

Hope everyone still looking forward to the street party on Saturday. Good news i have got some tables thanks to the scout hut for no cost as they like the idea of getting communities together.

On a serious note… The road Trem -y-Eglwys will have road closure signs either side of the road and also an access sign so residents can have access to their homes. Drives need to be aware of people and children in the area and pedestrians need to be aware of any cars. Thankyou for your co-operation. The big green will the area for the children to play and pavements and other areas can be used for people who want to bring chairs for them to sit on.

Lets hope the weather is kind to us , get the rain over and done with at the begining of the week. We have a few good talents on the day. Again people have been so supportive and very generious with their help. Again i am sorry we have turned down any fund raising, it would be a good opportunity but this is all about community spirit and awarness for childrens play. Thankyou again and to the Coed-y-Glyn news for all their kind thoughts and support.

I would like to thank and congratulate the coed-y-glyn residents in their interest and support of the street party it has been truly amazing, and it is of great sentiment through the people i have spoken to the importance of getting communities together again and agreement on children need more play opportunities!

We have a fabulous juggler as part of the entertainment, (if you want to learn how to juggle bring some tennis balls or bean bags) Someone will be doing balloon modelling, i am still looking for anyone who can play a musical instrument.

I have some playworkers who are CRB checked as some of the green area will be filled for childrens fun. Please put your children in clothes that they can get messy in.

I will keep regular updates on this site and please feel free to get in tough

Residents of Coed-y-Glyn exciting news, I have asked and been given permission from local authorities for us to have our very own Street Party. Remember the good old days of the Jubi-lee. This will be held on the 17th July 2010. There will be leaflets with an agenda of the day’s events handed out soon, this is for all our community and any ideas will be welcomed. The party is in aid of building communities back together, looking out for one another promoting a safer and friendlier society, gaining a positive effect on our lives and children’s for now and the future.

It was only 30-40 years ago that there was a sense of community, where people looked out for one another, helping the young and the old, parents had the confidences to let their children play outdoors with their friends, gaining life skills and experiences preparing them for adulthood. What went wrong?

Can you remember the freedom of your childhood? Exploring the outdoors with your peers, having many adventures, a special place you could claim as your own. It is strong agreement that children’s safety is of the upmost importance alongside their developments, health and state of mind. Children are in danger of missing out on a childhood you had, which gave us an abundance of skills prepar- ing us for a successful adulthood.

Holding an event such as this is all about getting to know one another, building up relationships and confidences within the community, being less isolated, to have fun and share each other’s experiences, giving parents the confidence for children to play outdoors again.
